Boy, 14, accused of sexually assaulting 15-year-old girl

OCALA --- A 14-year-old boy accused of molesting a 15-year-old girl was arrested on Friday and charged with sexual battery and lewd and lascivious conduct, according to a Sheriff's Office report.

The victim told detectives that she was asleep when she felt the boy touching her inappropriately. Her shorts were down, the report said.

The girl said the boy attempted to have sex with her, but she stopped him.

The boy, whose name is withheld because of his age, told detectives that the incident was consensual. He later told them he committed the act while the victim was asleep.

The boy was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

    And pray tell what is so funny? The boy admitted to sex while the girl was asleep. Last I heard that was considered rape and no laughing matter.

    Mind you.. it's been awhile since I was 15, but something doesn't sound right with this story? The little boy obviously needs to understand that trying to have sex with sleeping girls is "not ok".. but I am not sure this situation would warrant a "sexual assult" charge?

    I guess we can't expect to get all the details from a newspaper story, but I'm wondering just HOW asleep she was to get her knickers down without waking up. I suppose it is "attempted rape" since he didn't get permission. Maybe people call the cops for too small a reason these days? Doesn't sound like the assaultive type of "rape" to me. I'd be guessing to think that when she woke and said "no", he might have quit. Nothing in the article otherwise. Some of this stuff gets curiouser and curiouser.

    I see absolutely nothing funny about this story, whether she's lieing or not. If she's not, he tried to RAPE her..not funny. If she is, she is screwing his life up for eternity..also not funny.

    Whether he forcibly tried to rape her or not is not the issue. This kid tried to have sex with this girl without her permission. Forget the parents at this point. He's old enough to know better, who does he think he is that just because he wants to get some action he can try to take advantage of this girl while she's asleep. If this was my daughter he'd better be glad the cops came after him before I did. What kind of entitlement to these punks think they have these days, just to take whatever they want. If he would've stolen from a store his tail would've been sent to juvie without a second thought and this is way worse. Who knows if his parents would've even done anything about it. But if he gets away with this now what happens when he's 20 and tries the same thing, if not takes it to the next level because he didn't get into trouble this time? He deserved to get in trouble, it shows in the article that at first he said it was consensual and then he admitted she was sleeping, so he knew he was wrong.

    LOL! Is that a joke, is there something funny here? As the aunt of this boy and a good frind of the victem I Can't say that I find it to funny that 2 children suffer and the people in our community find it to there expense to gain a laugh. I have read threw the comments and would like to post my own. Everyone sits back at there computer and makes there own story from there,noone having the full facts or even knowing the children.I will say that the young man does need alot of help,mentally challenged for one, medicated for another,seveare mental problems,so does this child need help, yes he does,was it right for what he has done, No.especially since the 2 children knew one another since birth,were not only friends but raised as if family.One comment here talks about the parents, and if it in fact had of been a crime of stealing from a store and doubt that the parents would even do anything about it. Once again the readers don't know these people just want to judge and make there own input into such a sad situation.And yes as one other artical had said your not ganna get the entire story from a newspaper artical,and that there are parts missing here. Of course just as with any story you will read in any newspaper especially when dealing with children. I agree that there should be punishment for the actions taken here, and that the parents should see to that. No love runs greater then the love a parent has for there children so as far as the mother my heart goes out to you and will be in my prayers for having to face such a thing with her own child.Until you are faced with it yourself you can't sit there and say what you would do or how you would do it, sure sounds easy to say my kid or not he'd be under the jail. So to get the story straight and you can say you heard it first hand know, the mother is a great mother and is dealing the best she can, as far as a mothers tough love, I believe she was faced with that when she had to pick up the phone to make such a call on her own child, and to watch as he was walked off in handcuffs.My prayers are with ya sis!!!!
