SILVER SPRINGS – Marion County sheriff's deputies are searching for an Ocala man who reportedly kicked down the door of a home, scuffled with two people inside and broke a car's windshield early Monday.

Edward Williams was with his girlfriend, Renell Smith, at her Silver Springs apartment at about 2 a.m. Monday, when they say Smith's alleged ex-boyfriend, Damien Travis Gooden, 26, kicked through the front door. According to the Sheriff's Office report, Gooden and Williams started fighting before Gooden fled the residence.

As he was leaving, Gooden smashed the windshield of Williams' 1984 Chevrolet with a metal vase, according to the report. Deputies were unable to find Gooden early Monday. If caught, he faces possible charges of battery and criminal mischief.

Anyone with information on Gooden's whereabouts can call Crime Stoppers at 352-368-STOP.
