Gov. Charlie Crist has periodically visited small businesses around the state this year in an effort to take the state’s economic pulse and display his empathetic side during these dismal times..
Friday morning, Crist visited City Furniture in Tamarac. It may be one of the few small businesses visited by the governor this year that has a registered lobbyist in Tallahassee – Russ Klenet.
And a conservative estimate of campaign donations by the company shows at least $31,000 given since 2002, including $5,000 to the Crist-led effort to pass Amendment One in January.
Also on the list of City Furniture donors are Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink who has received $1,500 from the business and the Republican Party of Florida which has received $10,000 in the past few years.
