Woke up with what seemed to be problems with allergies, but as the day has gone on it feels like the flu. Anyone experience this lately? If so, how long does it last? Bad timing.

I have not had that. I do know this morning I woke up stuffier than usual so I am taking a stronger allergy medicine. It seems to be working so far. I hope you feel better! It is really stinky timing and I'm trying to avoid public places as much as possible for the next few days LOL

We were at a dealership this weekend looking at cars and half the staff was out sick or working sick. My granddaughters daycare has two kids out and she came home with a stuffy nose and a cough. Apparently there is something going around. My husband had a cold/flu last month and it lasted for a month. He would get well then go to work and then sent home sick again. It's all these closed buildings that incubate the germs and are passed like a bad buck.

My 16 year old has been sick for a week, all congested, throwing up, feeling bad.  I was hoping for Strep because it is easily cured...no, it's the FLU.

Doctor said he will be sick for about 10 days to 2 weeks so he has about 5 days left.

It is all over Ocala.  Sorry

yeah last night i started getting a scratchy throat, a little stuffy nose, today i feel like sleeping all day... just in time to make cookies all weekend.. sigh. it's going around. good luck.

Thanks for responding ladies. Day 3 and and it is still going strong. Ugggg. I had to cancel having guest stay with us this weekend. I have heard that it is all over town and takes a while to run its course. Keep your hands clean and try to avoid this bug anyway that you can. Take care.

That is hard to do when you have sick kids isn't it?  I hope you are well soon.  My son is actually getting better after 7 days of the flu.  Now I am getting sick and can't get off work.  That is a problem when  you have to  work sick.  Who can take off a week of work for the flu?  This is why it is all over!

Merry Christmas to all!

I had it last month. Cold / hot achy. Miserable. Took a good 2 weeks finally it was better

I read a story posted on fb that said to cut the top and bottom off an onion and put it in your room while you sleep and it's supposed to absorb the bacteria and the onion will look kind of gross in the morning but you should start feeling better. I've never actually tried it, but a woman commented and said that her son has a very weak immune system and its really bad when he gets sick so after she had heard about the onion "trick", seven years ago, she has beening putting an onion in his room and she said that he has not been sick in 7 years! I don't personally know if it really works but I think it's definitely worth a try.  :) I hope you feel better!!

Looks like I'll be sleeping with an onion tonight since I still have this annoying bug! Thanks.
Let me know if it works!! :-) I hope it does! Good luck!
Well, carried an onion around for a couple of days. I think it did help with my sinuses, but nothing miraculous. There is a lot of information out there on the benefits and uses of onions for health purposes. I think there maybe something to it!

After a week, I am finally starting to feel better. Apparently, this bug is all over town and is not a 24-48 hour bug, but rather a week and in some cases even longer.
My advice, wash your hands often and then wash them again, don't let yourself get rundown (an impossibility for moms during the holidays), and maybe even put an onion on your bed stand! Happy holidays!
