Governor Scott Wants Private Schools Held To Same Standards As Public

Governor Scott wants the students at private schools, especially those who receive state funding to go, to take the same standards and tests that public school students do. The article states he wants those tests for the ones who receive vouchers to go to the schools... He believes parents should have a choice on what school their children go to and that he wants to see the public funding program increased BUT he wants those students to take the same testing as public schools. Most private schools do some sort of standard testing just not the FCAT. (which sooo many people have problems with)

Do you think that these students should have to take the same test that others do? What do you think?

Amen! Private schools ARE private for a reason.
I find it very interesting that 2+2=6 when making the assumption that when a child leaves a private school with good grades and then goes to a public school making terrible grades, the assumption is that the private school is a bad school. Huh? I can tell you that the opposite holds true that a student going to a private school changes to a public schools and is bored to tears because there is not a challenge. I would imagine those who support public school implicitly would have an argument to defend public schools.

Let us be careful with assumptions...

I don't think anyone was saying that all of those that go from private to public get bad grades nor that it is always the private school. However, want I said and others is that I have heard several people and other people have heard the same that it is kinda odd the so many people make these claims that their kids went to in this case OCA and did great but went to public and did horribly to me that is sign that something else is wrong. If it were one or to people then yes I would say boredom but not when I hear it regularly. I will tell you flat out that there are some excellent private schools and there are some excellent public school. There are also some pretty crappy ones as well of both.
