This mother of 7 shares her tips that keep her house running smoothly and also for keeping her sanity in a house with children that age from 1-15. I giggled at some of them like "Embrace the Insanity". :) The others like making mom time sacred, travel light and not stressing about everything that goes into their mouths are great tips for all moms to remember.
Share your tips for keeping sane! Do you make mommy time for yourself? Do you think that all kids should do a sport of some kind?

The main one I had to learn was "let go of perfection". I've always had a "certain way" I do everything (like most moms/women) cooking, washing dishes, folding laundry. Once my second daughter was born (20 months after my first) and I was working fulltime days, school (with tons of homework) at night, still keeping the house up to my "standards" and making sure to get quality time in with my girls plus getting up at night with a newborn, I was exhausted. For a long time I'd tell my hubby not to do most stuff; he wouldn't wipe off the counters when he washed the dishes or they'd get put away in the wrong spot, do a half-a$$ job of sweeping and I don't think he even knows what dusting is LOL. Finally I realized "who cares!!!", it's getting done and I don't have to do it, yea it might not be the way I do it, but it's done and I have more time to do everything else I wanted/needed to do. I learned to stop comparing his way versus my way and just appreciate the fact that he's helping because there's alot of men who won't.
Permalink Reply by Jen Ryan on July 31, 2012 at 7:36pm I know what you mean! It is hard to let go and let others help LOL... I am thankful my hubby tries to help as well but it is hard for me to not say anything when it doesn't the way I would;) But like you I am glad he helps :)
