About 2 weeks ago the Dept. of Revenue / Child Support Enforcement people have implemented a new rule that you can no longer obtain any information about your case via the internet (www.marioncountyclerk.org) or by calling the court house if they are or have ever been involved in your case.
I can't tell you what an inconvenience it is to me and I bet I'm not the only ticked off single mother here in Ocala / Marion County.
My ex-husband hasn't paid the child support he owes since April 2009, he also stopped paying his 1/2 of the kids health insurance, which comes out of my paycheck automatically each week in October 2009 - so I'm struggling to keep afloat already and I don't have an attorney - no money for that.
Now, thanks to the DOR / CSE I have to either be late for work or take my entire lunch and then some to go find out what they are doing with my case. So missed time at work, additional gas to drive over to the court house and the CSE office and still no results from them.
What kind of idiot thought this was a good idea - must have been a man!!
Is anyone else here having the same issues?
Cindy
Get a new attorney. A couple of years ago I let my ex pay my child support in cash instead of him sending it through the court, and he never missed a payment. The court MADE US go to court 2 months later over it even after I PERSONALLY TOLD THEM that he paid me. It is serious, he HAS TO PAY. Go down to the courthouse yourself and tell them in the child support office. You don't have to make an appointment and they will look your case up.

According to my attorney I CAN'T GET child support. I make nothing due to this amazing economy, and my (soon to be) ex husbands idea of me being a stay at home mom. It really hurt me now that we are separated. Friends are currently helping me with diapers, and food and a roof over our heads. And he's working but not paying anything, or helping. never even offered. So I'm massively in dept to so many people. And I don't know what to do. The court house sent me a letter for child support enforcement and my attorney told me to toss it. She doesn't even WANT to TRY getting child support and now I feel like she could careless about my case. I feel so helpless. Any suggestions?
**My attorney is AMI DELORENZO, I'd honestly never recommend her to anyone she has done NOTHING the whole YEAR going back and forth with my ex. I went from having 200.00 bi-weekly for child support, to nothing for the past 6 or so months. And of course the only agreement my ex will sign is no CS.... So now she's saying we need to just do it and get it over with. I seriously feel like something is wrong and don't know what to do.
My ex owed 18 months of child support so I took him back to court to release custody of my child, he gladly did. He had no more parental rights. I had asked the court several times to have the child support garnished from his wages and he kept making excuses as to why that could not be done and the judge believed him. My husband had his child support payments garnished out of his wages plus 65% towards the childs health insurance was taken out. This was continued until the child from a previous marriage turned 18. The employer handled all the payments to the court and we never had an issue of it not being paid. If you can, take the deadbeat back to court and have the child support garnished from his wages. Also make sure that any income tax that is due back to him, gets sent to the courts. The courts can do it and they can also take away any profits he makes from selling a house until he has caught up on his child supports. My daughter friend just went through a divorce and all the child support and health insurance are being garnished from her ex's wages. He doesn't get a nickle until she gets paid first. She lives in Marion County so it can be done, it just takes time and a lot of work.
