Tell us about your startup business here!

We wanted to let you all know about a new feature on OcalaMom. Previously, the terms allowed no advertising in posts on our site. But because we know there are many members who are starting family businesses, and moms like to support other moms, we are slightly changing the terms.

 

Members will be allowed to post about upstarting businesses, but the posts must be made here in this discussion thread only. Any and all posts are still subject to editor discretion, and if we feel a post is inappropriate, we will be able to delete the post. Also, if a post is made in the wrong category, the post will be deleted or moved to this forum. This forum is for established members (25 posts or more) only! We appreciate your understanding and know that you will respect these terms :-)  

 

And just to clarify, these posts may not include actual advertisements. The posts are just to let us know about your business. :-) If a post includes an actual advertisement, it will be removed, and the poster will be referred to The Star Banner's advertising department.

Years ago we started a telephone answering service from our home office. Startup costs were cheap. We just needed a basic computer with spread sheets for documentation, a fax machine, scanner, printer and copier. The phone company installed the telephone lines for free on an as needed basis.  We did this for about 5 years until I became too exhausted with it and the business became stagnant with no new clientèle.

We decided to cease operations. I blame 9/11 for slowing things to a halt, however in good conditions this is an easy fun way to bring in extra income where the kids can actually help out.

I am working at Great Clips, it just opened about 5 months ago.  The people are great, its fun and full of life.  It is sort of a new concept for Ocala, we focus on hair cuts and perms, no color or other services.  This is not a full service salon, but everyone is fast and efficient.  I came from a full service salon and love this much better.  Anyway just wanted to sort of give a big Welcome to Ocala!  Hope to see everyone soon for a CUT!  352-237-1918.

What is Stroller Strides?
