The Events This Weekend!!!
If you are looking for something fun and "Christmasy" to do this weekend then there is no shortage of events going on. Don't forget our featured event at the Appleton. The last time to see it is this weekend. There is going to be snow falling in the square tomorrow night and the temps are dropping. That should really make it feel like a snowy day :) There's the train exhibit and lights all around. Stop by and check out all the fun!

We are going to try to go to Cottom Farm on Marion County Rd to see their light display and Christmas Village. I heard it is very family friendly and beautiful.

It is located on Marion County Rd off of County Rd 25 in Weirsdale. The website says it's in the Villages. It's just west of the Florida Carriage Museum. If you go South on 441 turn left on County Rd 42 until you get to County Rd 25 then turn right until you get to Marion County Rd, you will see the sign for the Carriage Museum. Cottom Farm is about 1.5 miles down the road. Look for them on the web or Facebook by searching for Cottom Farm.

This is a great place to go to. My parents took us there every year as kids :-) The x-mas light display is really pretty.

we got there at 5:15 and they said it would be a two hour wait in line. The little amount of dirty snow they had was NOT worth it. We left within 5 mins. All that disapointment and gee i wonder how they got the money to pay for it all...

That really stinks. I was hoping it would be better than that. We ended up not going because my kiddo is already fighting an allergy attack and we didn't want to make it worse... Glad we didn't go now...
