When Did You Start Wearing Makeup? When Will Your Daughter?

I don't really remember when it was I started wearing it regularly but I know I was not 9 years old as this article says ... Some of the teens I see today wear more makeup than I do now or ever have. I just don't like fussing with much but I do like a little. I typically stick with mascara, powder and blush. That is my typical everyday unless we are doing something special. I can NOT believe how much some of these girls I see wear all the time.

When did you start wearing makeup? If you have a daughter when do you think you will let her wear it and how much?

Same Here! I have a ten year old daughter and she has been asking for the last year.  I will allow her to wear it on special occassions only.  We  will be moving on to middle school which I know will have its own set of challanges. Once we get in in middle school to see what the norm is ,we will re-evalute this topic.  If I did allow her to wear make up it would be blush and a nutural lip color.

I was either 15 or 16. I think it is a good age for girls as out young ladies look older than what we did when we were their age. It just makes these young gals stand out even more to the "Chester-the-Molesters" of this world, older boys who should not be looking there way and any other thing I cannot think of at the moment that someone of that persuasion can.

Yes, they want to grow up fast, but they are young girls and I am sure many will disagree. Are these girls not exposed enough. Why make them a target? JMHO

You are so right. I will never forget my hubby and I were walking into Wal Mart one day and this little girl was in front of us. Her skirt was ENTIRELY too short.. My husband looked at me shaking his head and said if we had a daughter she would never wear something that short. It was too short for me to have been comfortable to wear. I don't understand it... why do parents allow their children to dress like that or dress like they are adults when they are less than 12? Kids try to grow up too fast...
