I'm very frustrated... There are two channels that are not on my cable tv anymore right now due to "negotiations". This really frustrates me because it is a local news channel, and my favorite WGN. Eergghh.. Of course I called the cable company and oh they don't condone what the  tv stations did and they say that pulling their stations during negotiations is wrong. But what's the deal... I hope it comes back before the fall... There are only a few  grown up shows that my hubby and I like to watch and they are mainly on CW.

I recently saw warnings on WE TV that some satellite customers were about to lose their channel too. Why do you think cable and tv stations can't get along...

Do you like your cable provider or do you see channels falling off regularly?

Thats it????? I've lost 25 due to Viacom (nicklodeon, MTV, Logo, etc) want to charge and extra 30% per channel too. So they are fighting over it. I myself am about to get rid of satellite all together and just get Netflix and use Hulu and stream it to the TV from computer. $10/mo and all the movies and tv programs that I want and Hulu is free unless you get the HuluPlus if you just have to have it streamed to your phone etc. But yeah, I'm sick of the cable companies it is getting rediculous. Plus any show that isn't on Hulu or Netflix I can go online and watch minus the cable bill. :) I had a big discussion about his on my FB and was amazed by how many people where already doing this.

Yeah so far that's all we have lost. My parents have lost those due to Viacom too. My hubby says they just want more money so they will come back eventually but jack up our bill. I have honestly thought about doing the same thing you have except I'm not sure if the TV could stream Hulu. We have an old box tv. ;) But we do stream Netflix through our Wii already... I may look into that myself...

I am going to get a Sony stream  its $80.00 at walmart says it works with any TV. I have both new style and old but your hubby is right when they put it back on the bill is going to go through the roof again. I personally think we should be able to pick and choose what channels we want and pay for just those. Since we can't I'm going to go with the Netflix and Hulu. A friend also told me about Apple TV but I haven't really looked into that one yet.

We have Brighthouse & as of 2 weeks ago, they no longer carry ME-TV (which runs classic TV shows - everything from Twilight Zone to Peter Gunn to Columbo) & WESH-2 (NBC's Orlando outlet & one of my former guilty pleasures; its local news is just a step above the National Enquirer, & they also have the Ellen Degeneres show, now no longer available on any of Brighthouse's channels).

From what I read in the newspaper, Viacom & other channels recently raised the prices they charge to cable/satellite companies & it was up to those companies to decide whether to pay & pass those costs along to their customers, or drop the channels & maintain existing prices. Because more & more people are switching from cable to satellite (or vice versa) based on cost, providers are dropping the channels rather than risk losing customers.

Suggestion - after Brighthouse dropped ME-TV & WESH-2, my husband called & complained, & they cut our monthly cable bill by $20. If you have cable, call your provider & see if you can get them to give you a discount. It won't bring back the channels you want, but at least you'll have the small satisfaction of a lower monthly bill. If you have satellite, you may be out of luck - that is, you're probably tied to a 2- or 3-year contract & can't cancel without paying a penalty. I'd bet that even though their advertising promised you'd have MTV, Nickelodeon etc., the fine print says that the channels you get aren't guaranteed & are subject to change without notice. Talk about bait & switch. There's a class action suit here for some sharp lawyer.

We have brighthouse also and are upset to lose Wesh TV, now they are running some channel from Pennsylvania, what good is that in Florida for the weather and updates. We also have paid extra for the Major League Baseball channels and three Saturday's we have been blacked out on the 7 PM games. Only games shown are the Marlins or Rays games on local stations. Why do they charge so much if they are going to black out the games. I think we should get a credit for every station they black out. We may just go back to antenna.

I am honestly more upset over the loss of CW. That's where all our shows are. LOL They are both saying it's the others fault and I think shame on both of them.

Cable companies have such a monopoly on your location.  I have always felt that to be so unfair.  I've thought about cancelling Brighthouse.  I hate not having Live with Kelly and Ellen Degeneres.   Greed is running this country, with so many different companies.  America is becoming the land of the greed.  Everywhere I go, it seems like all people care about is money, money and more money.

Wahoo they are back ;) According to this article they are returning to Brighthouse.... Now I'm excited for the fall season to come back to CW :)
