I worked at the school board last year, however I found that all I ever had was the kids. They would even come visit me in the clinic. I will not be returning this school year. I am going back to full time at the hospital I have been at for 10+ years. I work 3 nights a week, I feel like I don't see them at all for those 3 days. It is hard. Some days they beg me to stay home, that makes me feel even worse. Sharese is right, you are doing it to make a better life for them. Plus you are showing them how to be a productive citizen, that is part of being a positive role model. It does get easier, I have 4 so I completely understand

hi brooke, it is very hard.  i have a 6 yr old 4 yr old and a 7 month old.  i work for the school board so i have the summer off atm but i have trouble leaving them too.  i have had to go to work after 8 weeks with each one.  just know you are doing it to make a better life for them.  Use the time you have outside of work with them and make it as special as possible.  for a one year old it could be as simple as playing on the floor with them.  it does get easier tho. good luck to you

Hi ladies. I am the mother to a one year old girl and had to go back to work before she was 8 weeks old. Even after a year I still get very depressed come Monday when I go back to work. How have you dealt with this? Any suggestions?
