Welcome to OcalaMom.com and thank you for taking the time to read through our rules. It is important that you know what is expected of you before you enter this community. OcalaMom.com will be lightly moderated but is mostly an open forum in which you, the users, control the content. Therefore, the users will set the tone of the site. To make this experience fun as well as educational, we encourage our members to be supportive and positive. Like any community, OcalaMom.com will flourish only when our members feel welcome and safe. Therefore, we have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to hate speech and harassing others. As we teach our children time and again, please treat others the way you wish to be treated. By using OcalaMom.com, you agree to the following terms:

* The information and pictures you post are your own, which means they are free of copyright and other restrictions.

* You will use respectful language. Hate speech will not be tolerated. Please refrain from using language that abuses or discriminates on the basis of race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual preference, age, region, disability, etc.

* You will be courteous. You agree that you will not threaten or verbally abuse other members, use defamatory language, or deliberately disrupt discussions with repetitive messages, meaningless messages or "spam."

* Debate, but don't attack. In a community full of opinions and preferences, people are bound to disagree. OcalaMom.com encourages active and healthy discussions on our forums. But please avoid personal attacks, mean-spirited gossip about another member and do not "stalk" a member to another thread to continue a heated discussion.

* You will use our chat rooms and message boards in a noncommercial manner. Do not, without the express approval of OcalaMom.com, distribute or otherwise publish any material containing any solicitation of funds, advertising or solicitation for goods or services. We welcome businesses who wish to advertise to OcalaMom.com. But these businesses must follow our advertising procedures, which can be found under FAQ.

* Cursing will not be tolerated. Nor will using creative ways to get around the profanity filter. Let's keep this a clean environment.

* You are solely responsible for the content of your messages. OcalaMom.com does not and cannot review every message posted by you on the message boards. However, OcalaMom.com reserves the right to delete, move, or edit messages that, in its sole discretion, it deems abusive, defamatory, obscene, in violation of copyright or trademark laws, or are otherwise unacceptable. OcalaMom.com also reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disallow the use of a particular screen name, or to terminate any user's posting privileges at any time.

* Please use caution when sharing personal information with anyone you do not know and have not met. Also use caution if you choose to meet members in person. Choose a public place for the initial meeting. We intend to provide a safe environment for moms but we also encourage you to be guarded in the amount of information you share about your children.

* You agree that any submissions you make (commentary, photographs, videos) may be edited, removed, modified, published, transmitted, displayed, or used in any other way by OcalaMom.com and its licensees in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter devised.

* You may not post information or links that are sexually explicit or pornographic on this site.
* If you are not a mom, you are welcome. We understand that non-moms may find this website useful. However, please keep your posts to parenting issues. Other posts run the risk of being deleted at the editor's discretion.

* You will use this site at your own risk. OcalaMom.com does not endorse and is not responsible for any viewpoints, discussions or advice posted by its members or by third-party links. OcalaMom.com is also not responsible for false information posted on the site.

* OcalaMom.com may change, add or remove portions of these guidelines at any time.

Consequences for Breaking the Rules:

Each report or violation will be considered on a case by case basis. Any decision that is made will be confidential and not discussed publicly on the forums. A user will be informed of wrongdoing by email from the editor of the site. But in general, here are the consequences for breaking the rules:

* First offense: written warning
* Second offense: 3 day suspension
* Third offense: 7 day suspension
* Fourth offense: removed from the site
