This week we went to the Santa Fe Teaching Zoo in Gainesville at the Sante Fe College. We went with our homeschool group this week and there were lots of other schools there as well. I honestly was afraid it would be very crowded. I was pleasantly surprised that even though there were several other field trips in there it was nice and spacious. It was also a nice experience because unlike larger zoos you were up closer to some of the animals. The price was very reasonable. It costs $5 for…

I don't know if something is in the air or what but I have been emotional this year around Thanksgiving. I haven't been really in the Christmas mood... yet.. that is coming.. But thinking on Thanksgiving I have been thinking of how much I have to be thankful for.
I am thankful for my memories with my grandparents. For some reason this year I have really missed them. I got teary eyed the other day at Sams because an older gentlemen smiled as he past me and he looked so much…

My little guy is so in to dinosaurs right now. We are actually starting a dinosaur study in our homeschool this week. I thought that a trip down to Dinosaur world in Plant City would be perfect to start with. We had a blast. Other than it being very muggy that day he had a wonderful time seeing all the dinosaurs. The cost is not as much as a lot of other amusement parks. It cost us a little under $40 to get in for the three of us. That is all day admission to come and go as you please. If you…

Thanks Jennifer for the info! I tried to sign up for the newsletter but it will not load that page for some reason but I will certainly try again.
Thank you
Thank you so much for coming. We look forward to having you and your son soon.
Hey Jennifer, I am currently just homeschooling my oldest. He started Middle School this year and I knew it was not an 'education' that I wanted him receiving. Not that I want him to be sheltered and ignorant of the birds and the bees or anything else, because he is well educated in such matters, I just don't believe that his schooling should be centered around such topics as they tend to be in middle school. I was going to homeschool my 7 year old as well but she decided to go to the public school at the VERY last minute. She has since begged me to bring her home, which I will be doing at the commencement of her next year. My 8 year old lives in Miami with his bio mother...it makes for a difficult time for him but we can't do a whole lot about that so he unfortunately is educated by a less than preferred public school and a less than preferred home life so we pray for him A LOT. I plan on homeschooling our two youngest daughters when it is their turns as well. Whew! Makes for a busy, fun home life!
Melissa U. said… We will probably start going to the 11am on Sunday due to our son's odd sleeping schedule, and Wed you'll have to see us. :) That would great to meet you and your family.
Melissa U. said… I just realized you sent me a message about Meadowbrook church and the website in Memory of my son, lol. Andy and I go back to GPC every service. Did you go to the Heart of a Woman? It was very nice. We'll be at the 11am service on Sundays and 7pm on Wed. We were going to the Saturday services but they are no longer available. How long have you been going there? We've been there for only a month. We really love it.
Julie said… LOl. Yeah I don't know what happened to my status either..maybe I clicked something and erased it, I'm still kinda new to this..Anyway my daughter is 13 and she recently asked me if she could have a boyfriend..I think 13 is way too young but most of her friends have boyfriends..i know it's puppy love but as a parent (and because you know how you were as a kid..lol) you just want to protect them..Am I too overly protective??? I do respect the fact that she asked.
