My little guy is so in to dinosaurs right now. We are actually starting a dinosaur study in our homeschool this week. I thought that a trip down to Dinosaur world in Plant City would be perfect to start with. We had a blast. Other than it being very muggy that day he had a wonderful time seeing all the dinosaurs. The cost is not as much as a lot of other amusement parks. It cost us a little under $40 to get in for the three of us. That is all day admission to come and go as you please. If you want to leave for lunch and come play some more no problem!
They have over 150 life size dinosaurs on a trail. They have a newly renovated 5000 square foot gift shop and a brand new playground too. The playgrounds are at the beginning of the trip along with several picnic tables. They do not offer food services there but they have great locations for you to bring in your own food and enjoy the scenery. There is even picnic tables set up in their caves. :)
I think Jack's favorite part of the trip was not only did he get to see his favorite dinosaur T- Rex, he got to dig for fossils! This is included in your child's ticket but you can also dig if you want for $2.00 extra. He found a few shark teeth in the "dig". Your child can keep three of the fossils they find while digging. They even have a sand pit where the kids can pretend to be digging for dinosaurs. There are "bones" under the sand where they find a full size dino skeleton.
If you get a chance to check it out I think it is a great place to go. Just be sure to go on a day that it isn't rainy or to unbearably hot as all the exhibits are outside. Let me know if you go and how you like it!

Comment by Jen Ryan on September 21, 2011 at 11:08am I'm the marketing director for Dinosaur World. I also have an awesome 6 year old son who has me take him to work with me at least once a week :) If you'll email me at dinosaurworld@scrtc.com or call Nicole at 270-773-4345 (its a weird number from Kentucky becuase I do marketing for all 3 of our locations) then I'll snail mail you one free pass. Normal prices are $12.75 adults and $9.75 for ages 3-12. I can only do this for Ocala moms.
