Resources available for finding quality child care services

There is a free service offered by the Early Learning Coalition, Child Care Resource and Referral, that can assist you in finding quality child care that will meet your family needs.  You may contact us at 352-369-2315 to complete an interview.  The interview can take up to 30 minutes to obtain all of the information needed to help you locate child care.  Once the information is obtained, Resource and Referral will be able to generate referrals for you to local child care providers that meet the requirements obtained in the interview.  All information is confidential.  The referrals are computer generated based on the information that you provide.  We will also provide you with the telephone number and web address for DCF Child Care Licensing so that you can do some research to find out if a potential provider has had any complaints or violations, as well as a Choosing Quality Checklist that you can take with you when visiting potential child care providers.  We do encourage you to interview a potential child care provider.  Resource and Referral can also provide you with other community resources.
