I don't know if something is in the air or what but I have been emotional this year around Thanksgiving. I haven't been really in the Christmas mood... yet.. that is coming.. But thinking on Thanksgiving I have been thinking of how much I have to be thankful for.

I am thankful for my memories with my grandparents. For some reason this year I have really missed them. I got teary eyed the other day at Sams because an older gentlemen smiled as he past me and he looked so much like my grandfather. Tearing up and swallowing back the lump in my throat listening to the Southern Gospel songs like what my MeMaw and Pawpaw used to sing. I miss them dearly and wish everyday that my son could know the memories I had and know them when they were in their prime. I would not wish them back in the condition they were in but I do miss them dearly.

I am thankful for a child who is compassionate and caring. One who amazes me everyday with his ability to understand things around him in the world that I can't always understand. I am thankful that he is a friend to all he comes in contact with whether you are like him or not. I have to share something that happened... Yesterday we were at the park and a little girl and her mother were there. I saw Jack playing with the little girl and they were having a good time. I go over to tell him it is time to go and he was going to hand her his sticks to play with since he had to leave. He called her but she had her back to him and didn't respond. He said oh yeah she uses sign language to talk as he looked at me. It dawned on me that her and her mother were deaf. I told him to get in front of her so she could see he was talking to her. He did and she had the biggest grin on her face when he handed her the sticks. :) I got distracted talking to friends and noticed her mother was trying to teach Jack how to sign hello and goodbye to her. It was so amazing to watch my son interact with her and not be afraid of someone that is different from him.

I am thankful for my friends, family, service men and women who protect us and sacrifice time from their families,  and a community of moms like those here on Ocala Mom. I am thankful for a place where we can come lean on each other through the tough times. Encourage each other and support each other. A place that is welcoming whether we have met or not.Thankful that communities like that exist!

From Our Family to Yours.. May you have a happy, healthy and full Thanksgiving remembering all the wonderful things we have to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving

From Bob, Jen and Jackson :)
